About Us:
Gulu Central High school was founded in
1998. It is a Private, Mixed day, boarding “O” and “A” level
Secondary school.
Gulu Central High School is located 11/2
Kms from Gulu town in Iriaga parish, Laroo Division Gulu
Municipality – Northern Uganda.
The school vision, Mission statement and
motto are as below:
School Vision: To establish an
Educational institution that can promote and shape
destiny of both the students and staff.
Mission Statement: To offer quality
Educational at an affordable cost to our people through
dedicated teaching, guidance and support of personal growth
and development.
School Motto: “Strive to serve”
School Objectives:
1)
To create an alternative
educational institution in the area which can supplement the
efforts of the existing Government aided and a few private
schools in providing quality education to the children of this
country, but particularly those children from the Acholi
region.
2)
To develop a resource mobilization
mechanism this can support the education of few disadvantaged
children especially the orphans.
3)
To build system that can identify
and promote the talents and potentials of the students as well
as some members of the society in non academics fields.
4)
To inculcate into the minds of the
children, parents and people in the region the spirits of
nationalism, unity, hardwork and self – initiative.
5)
To heed to the presidential call
for encouraging private investigation not only in the
manufacturing but also in the service sector.
6)
To be able to create employment
opportunities directly and indirectly;
Hence assisting
government in alleviating the macro-economic problem of
unemployment which baffles the Uganda’s Economy.

The School enrolment stands at
1500 students aged 14-20yrs with a bigger percentage of boys
than girls being supported by 46 teaching staff and 20
support staff.

The School offers both Uganda
Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate
of Education (UACE) courses. Both Arts and Sciences based
subjects are taught to the students.

The school provide opportunities
to the students to participate in diversity of Co-curricular
activities such as: Games, Sports, Music, Dance and Drama,
clubs and Societies.

The School is managed by the
Board of Directors, school Administrators, teachers and
student leaders with maximum involvement of the parents.
·
The school has an established
trend of consistently good and improving performance in the
national examination and co-curricular activities.
